IGAD summit deliberates on the prevailing situation in South Sudan.

President Museveni with other heads of State and Government whose countries are members of IGAD and the African Union Ad-hoc Committee on South Sudan, referred to as the “IGAD Plus” attend the 2nd Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Extra Ordinary Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Hailemariam Desalegn, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and current Chairperson of the IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government with the attendance of Heads of State from the region and representatives from the UN, African Union, and IGAD. The summit deliberated on the prevailing situation in South Sudan.

On conclusion of the one day summit, President Museveni has this morning departed Bole International Airport, for Kampala.

The President was seen off by the Ethiopian Director General Protocol Affairs Legesse Geremew, Ugandan Ambassador to South Sudan Major General Robert Rusoke and Ugandan Ambassador to Ethiopia Mull Katende.
