The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is meeting leaders from the West Nile, North and North Western Regions in buildng their capacity in enhancing Sound Environment Management.
The Meeting taking place at Arua District Council Hall, aims at increasing the districts’ capacity to plan and implement environmental programmes at Districts and Lower Local Governments.
Environment management in Uganda is largely decentralized
to Local Governments and communities to promote public participation and involvement of the local people. Public participation can greatly be enhanced when the Local Leaders are knowledgeable of their roles in Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) management and appreciate environmental issues/concerns. #NemaMeetsWestNileLeaders
