On Monday the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, Hon Philemon Mateke met with Uganda’s newly appointed Honorary Consul in Mumbai, Madhusudan Agrawal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kampala.
Mr. Madhusudan Agrawal, a 61year old co-founder of Ajunta Pharma Limited, was presented with an instrument of appointment to handle Uganda’s business and Consular interests in the Mumbai area, as a support office to the Uganda High Commission in New Delhi. Mumbai is the business Capital of India. He has vast experience of 44years in successfully managing numerous business ventures. This explains his appointment by the Ugandan Government as the Honorary Consul of Uganda in Mumbai, India, Western Zone.
His appointment will further strengthen the cordial relationship between Uganda and India bringing new level of growth for Uganda. He intends to channel his efforts towards various sectors as follows:
• Development of sustainable programs.
• Promotion of tourism
• Affordable, renewable energy like Hydro and Solar for water pumps, clean water and irrigation
• Investment in Health care and affordable housing
• Development of integrated industrial Park-Smart affordable city
• Steel plant
This will go a long way in promoting and creating job opportunities, producing export oriented products from Uganda to various parts of the world by value addition. He also intends to ensure Government to Government collaboration especially in the field of Education, Technical- Know- how, information and communication technology.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Chief of Protocol, Amb. Charles Ssentongo and Amb. Elizabeth Paula Napeyok, Uganda’s High Commissioner in India.
