Ambassador Marcel R.Tibaleka, on 27thMarch 2017, presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Mr. János Áder, President of the Republic of Hungary, during an official ceremony at Sándor Palace in Budapest.
On arrival at Sándor Palace, Amb. Tibaleka was received by the Chief of Protocol to the President who then escorted him to the Hall of Mirrors where he presented the Letters of Credence by which His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni accredits him to His Excellency Mr. János Áderas Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda.
H.E. President Áder then invited Amb. Tibaleka for a private conversation during which they exchanged views on strengthening the Uganda-Hungarian relations and stressed the importance of developing the mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation as well as expanding official contacts between the two States.
While noting the Hungarian interest in strengthening the all-sided cooperation with Uganda, including trade,tourism education, agriculture, ICT, and housing, the President confirmed Hungary’s offer of 50 scholarships to Ugandan students to study in Hungary with effect from September 2017, and an additional Grant of €20 million towards project(s) identified by the Uganda Government.
The ceremony included the signing of the Presidential Guest Book before proceeding to the Heroes’ Square for a wreath-laying ceremony accompanied by the guard of honour of the Budapest garrison.
Amb. Tibaleka is Uganda’s ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany resident in Berlin. He is accredited to Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, The Vatican, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania. He is also Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Agencies in Bonn and Vienna.
